Angela DiBernardo, Angie for short, is a Speech-Language Pathologist certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the state of California. Angie received her Master of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology from San Jose State University. Prior to that, she graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Spanish. She is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish fluently. Angie’s passion for language bleeds into her love for cultural awareness and diversity. She has spent the past 4 years working in the public school setting at a Spanish immersion school site. Before that, she volunteered for 5 summers at a Stanford based summer program called Listen To Me! There, she learned how to support listening and speaking skills for Early Intervention aged children with cochlear implants through auditory and oral training.

Recently, Angie has  taken a deep dive into learning about the Neurodiversity Paradigm Shift, Gestalt Language Processing through the Natural Language Acquisition Framework, and Sensory Integration Strategies that support the motivation and regulation necessary for language development. Through specializing in Gestalt Language Processing, Sensory Integration, and bilingual Spanish support, Angie hopes to spread awareness of connection over compliance, support meaningful communication for her clients and their families, and promote authenticity and independence through self-advocacy.

By basing therapy on play and focusing on the strengths of each child, Angie believes her clients will have fun and develop positive communication attitudes that promote positive self-images. Angie strives to support speech and language for her clients through compassion, connection, and joy.

When Angie is not doing therapy or researching new ideas, you can find her at the beach! She loves plants, hikes, camping, being with family and friends, and all animals.
